Application Question Details

In addition to basic identifying information, you will be asked to respond to the following short answer questions when you apply for the Playwrights Realm's programs:

Writing Fellowship

1. Please provide a short synopsis of your current draft.   

2. At what stage is your play now? How would it benefit from an intensive development process?  What aspects of the script would you like to focus on?

3. How would you describe where you are in your career? How would a Fellowship with The Playwrights Realm benefit you now?

4. We'd love to hear about any artists, particularly directors, you'd like to work with on this play, or any specific professional goals you are hoping The Realm could help you with.

Scratchpad Series

1. Please provide a short synopsis of your current draft.

2. At what stage is your play now? What development has the script undergone thus far? What aspects of the script would you like to focus on?

3. A Scratchpad Series process is meant to be tailored to your needs. How would you want to use the 15 hours and what specific hopes do you have for your reading? What would you be looking for in collaborators for a Scratchpad process?

4. How would you describe where you are in your career?  What brought you to playwriting? What inspires you to keep going? 

Dual application (Writing fellowship + Scratchpad series)

1. Please provide a short synopsis of your current draft.

2. At what stage is your play now? What development has the script undergone thus far? What would you be looking for in collaborators to support further development?

3. How would your play benefit from the Writing Fellowship’s intensive development process?  What aspect(s) of the script would you like to focus on if given a more limited 15-hour Scratchpad process?

4. How would you describe where you are in your career? How would working with The Playwrights Realm benefit you now?
